Grinders versus Rock Stars
| By Randy Gage Nov 19, 2005, 11:55 Dear Colleague, I was having a conversation with Eric Worre recently. Eric, if you don't know him, is a multi-million dollar producer from way back. He was a star with NSA back in the day, and ran Quorum for a while. Then he co-founded TPN with Jeff Olson, and oversaw the transition when the company was sold. So he pulled in over a million dollars a year for over a decade. We were talking about MLM "grinders." These are the "loyal soldiers" who soldier on year after year, but never really breakthrough to achieve the big bonus checks, recognition, and lifestyle the industry promises. They work hard, do all the stuff their sponsor or company tells them to, but they never really get the payoff. This is a tragedy. And unfortunately it happens all the time. The reasons are numerous. But mostly they can be traced to one deciding factor. They have a sponsorship line who has never really breathed the thin air at the top, so they don't know how to coach and guide their people there. They keep handing out the same marketing materials, making the same presentation, and spouting the same clichés. "These products just sell themselves." "Just think of people you know who want to be successful." "Never give up." "See you at the Top!" "Write your goals down." "Dream bigger dreams." Blah, blah, blah... Sorry guys, but that dog don't hunt. The truth is, if you stay on that path, you'll be a grinder forever. The loyal distributor who does all the stuff the company and your sponsor ask you to do, but can't figure out why you have never broken into big bonus check territory. First let's clear up something: No, it is not a secret plot to get you. These people are really well-meaning people. They just don't know what they don't know! Frankly I have yet to meet a CEO of an MLM company that really understands how a network is built. They are so blinded by their belief in their products that they don't get what really creates duplication. And truthfully, most distributors, some of them even mildly successful, don't understand about true duplication. They don't know how group culture is created, nor do they understand how to develop leadership. If you want to stop being a grinder and become an MLM Rock Star, you need to: . Understand the difference between retail based businesses and organization building ones; . Know how to foster leadership, so you create a new crop of upcoming leaders every few months; . Recognize the profile of the best type of prospects and teach your people how to attract them; . Understand the simple, but very profound formula that is the foundation for duplication; . Be trained in group dynamics, so you can keep a network excited even through plateaus and challenges; . Instill a culture of rank advancement in your group; . Develop a culture of self-development and growth; . Learn how to support your people, yet set boundaries to manage your time and efforts effectively; . Know how to counteract the stupid things your company is probably going to unknowingly do to thwart your growth; . Recognize when a leader is a cancer, and needs to be separated from the group; . Be able to create "buy-in" for your team vision; and, . Implement the three steps to working yourself out of a job! There's more, but you get the idea. What I am saying is that the skills that help you sponsor five or tem people and build a group of a few dozen or a few hundred will NOT take you to the top. If you want to be an MLM Rock Star, you have to know how to attract, lead and manage an organization in many states and usually many countries. You have to understand the dynamics of leading an organization of tens of thousands of distributors. And that is the thing that most of the people in your sponsorship line can't teach you. Because they have never done it. It's not their fault. They are in the dark just as you are. And as I said, they don't know what they don't know. It is for that reason that I am writing you today. I have been working on a resource for some time now. This is an audio album that was originally intended for my organization alone. It is the actual systems, methods and techniques I used to break recruiting and duplication records that have stood for years. It is how I created a culture of leadership, rank advancement, and integrity in my organization. And basically created a leadership factory in my group. As I told you, this was only going to be for my leaders. But my publisher has asked me if I would allow them to sell a limited quantity to my newsletter subscribers like you. I've agreed to do it for a limited time. For obvious reasons, I don't want all my competitors having this information. But I do hate to see so many people grinding away, and not understanding why network marketing hasn't worked for them the way they dreamed off. So I am pulling back the curtain, and revealing what I know in this new album. If you're tired of being a grinder, and ready to become a Rock Star, click on the link below. www.MLMRockStar.com You can pre-order the set and get it as soon as it comes off the press in a couple weeks.
